Any Questions?

I’ve listed below the questions I’m often asked by my clients. If you have one for me that isn’t covered, please do get in touch.

Can I hire additional kit from you?
The prices above show the most popular combinations of my time and kit, but I also regularly hire out my other technical equipment. This includes a Mackie 1402 VLZ4 Audio Mixer, full Reflecmedia Green Screen set up, 3 x Datavision LED 600 Panel lights and a portable autocue system.

If I don’t have the kit that you need myself I can pass on the numbers of some great AV companies I’ve worked with over the years who will be able to help you out.
Do you just do work with NewTek TriCaster's?
In terms of vision mixing and streaming, my main experience is with the NewTek TriCaster product range as it’s the platform I’ve used almost daily for the last 6 years. That said, I’ve used other mixers before including Blackmagic, LiveStream HD550’s and VMix software, so I’m sure after spending a few minutes in front of yours I’ll be up to speed and ready to roll.
Can you handle all the live video streaming?

I’ve handled TriCaster based live streaming projects for Edelman, Cambridge University Press and Siemens, and can project manage the entire live streaming of your event. I can recommend solutions ranging from public streams broadcast on YouTube and Facebook pages, to secure streams that are broadcast on password-protected video streaming sites.

What else could you help us with?
I’ve spent the majority of the last 6 years working with large multinational companies, so I’m very comfortable dealing with clients and handling large-scale projects. I’ve produced a wide range of conventional corporate videos and am more than happy to plan and manage shoots on location.

I first got into this line of work by working on live events and conferences. I’m sometimes asked to be a Stage Manager or Production Assistant on events and am happy to help with everything and anything, from putting the kettle on to presenter coaching, stage management and PowerPoint design.
What are your travel and accommodation costs?
I own my own van and don’t charge extra for it’s use on my projects. I charge 45p per mile and I’m happy to organise my own overnight accommodation. I’ve been on the circuit for a while and have spent many a night in Premier Inns and Travelodges all over the country – I’m not precious about where I lay my head! I know budgets are getting squeezed so I always try to keep the accommodation, food and drinks bill below £125 a day.

If it’s been a tough day and if I need a couple of stiff drinks at the end of it, I’ll foot my bar bill!
Can you arrange the hire of additional members of crew?

Over the last 6 years I’ve been lucky enough to work with some great freelance cameramen, sound engineers and producers. I’m more than happy to book additional team members if the project requires it, or recommend people directly to you depending on what works best.

Can you teach me how to use the TriCaster?
I spend the majority of my time working as a vision mixer and director, but I do also offer training on the NewTek TriCaster product line. I can provide training for individuals and groups and you can find out more information by visiting www.TriCasterTraining.co.uk.
Can you stream our event on Facebook Live?
I think Facebook Live is the best video streaming innovation in the last 5 years and I can help you broadcast your live event direct to your followers. I’ve handled Facebook events for companies and agencies across the UK and can help you at every stage of the production.
Can you edit what is recorded?

Yes, I’m extremely comfortable editing any material captured on the TriCaster using Adobe Premiere. This regularly includes editing Q&As, key presentations, Award Ceremonies and green screen virtual set content into completed videos.

Do you work overseas?

I’ve worked on projects in the USA and mainland Europe before and I’m more than happy to travel overseas on projects. If it isn’t cost effective for me to travel with all my kit, I can recommend suppliers in the USA and Europe who hire out TriCasters and other AV kit to help keep the overall budget down. Any jobs located in the Caribbean, Maldives or St James’ Park in Newcastle will result in a pretty hefty discount :)
